Midas Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 13, 2026 · Version 2026-10-13
This policy applies across the site and alongside the Terms of Use. California residents can read more about their rights at the Attorney General’s CCPA page. You can turn off visit counting at the end of this page.
Midas Management Group Inc., in connection with the Midas Story Discovery Competition and its affiliated relationship with Midas Entertainment Group Inc. (“Midas,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects the privacy of writers and users of Midas services.
This Privacy Policy explains the categories of information we collect, how the information is used, how it may be disclosed and retained, and the privacy choices and rights that may be available to users.
1. Information We Collect
Depending upon how you interact with Midas, we may collect your name, email address and other contact information; account and login information; eligibility information; competition entry information; uploaded screenplays, stories and creative materials; project titles and submission metadata; communications with Midas; transaction and payment-status information; technical and device information; website usage information; and information created in connection with optional coverage or other requested services.
2. How We Use Information
Midas may use information to establish and administer accounts, verify eligibility, process competition entries, evaluate submissions, provide coverage or other requested services, communicate with users, process and confirm payments, prevent fraud, maintain security, maintain administrative and legal records, respond to inquiries, enforce agreements and comply with applicable law.
3. Submitted Creative Material
Submitted screenplays and stories are treated as private, unpublished creative material.
Midas does not sell submitted screenplays or stories.
Midas does not use submitted screenplays, stories or other creative material to train or fine-tune generative AI models.
Access may be provided to authorized readers, judges, employees, representatives, contractors and service providers where reasonably necessary to provide a requested service or operate, evaluate, administer or secure a competition.
4. Payments
Payments may be processed through third-party payment processors such as Stripe or PayPal.
Midas does not store complete payment-card numbers on its own servers where payment information is collected directly by the applicable processor.
5. Service Providers
Midas may use third-party providers for services including website hosting, databases, payment processing, email communications, security, analytics and AI-assisted services.
Such providers may process information on behalf of Midas for authorized purposes.
6. Sale of Information
Midas does not sell writer contact lists or submitted screenplays or stories.
7. Marketing Communications
Users may receive promotional communications only as permitted by applicable law and applicable user preferences.
Marketing emails will provide an appropriate method to unsubscribe.
Transactional communications regarding accounts, purchases, submissions, security or requested services may continue where appropriate.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
After you sign in, the browser keeps a session cookie so you stay signed in. Signing out ends the session on that browser.
A separate first-party cookie holds a random visitor id so we can count visits for our own records, in aggregate, without IP addresses. It expires within 13 months and is not renewed while you browse. Records tied to that id are deleted after 25 months; daily totals that contain no id may be kept longer. Where the law requires consent for this kind of counting, we do not set the cookie.
You can turn off visit counting at any time on this page. When you do, we delete the visitor cookie and the visit records tied to it, and we store a small cookie that remembers your choice.
Our network provider may set its own strictly necessary security cookies to tell people from bots. We do not use any of these cookies to build an advertising profile, and there is no advertising pixel or session-replay tool on this site.
9. Browser Privacy Signals and Third-Party Tracking
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of visit counting: we do not set the visitor cookie or count your visits. We do not respond separately to the older "Do Not Track" signal, but you can opt out of visit counting as described in section 8.
We do not allow advertising networks or other third parties to collect information about your activity on this site over time and across other websites. Some services we use to operate the site receive limited information when you use them: Cloudflare, to check that a form is submitted by a person; Google, if you choose to sign in with Google; and PayPal, if you choose to pay with PayPal, which may set its own cookies during checkout. Each handles that information under its own privacy policy.
10. Data Retention
Midas retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to administer competitions, provide requested services, maintain payment and audit records, prevent fraud, maintain security, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Certain competition, payment, tax, security, audit or legal records may be retained after an account is closed where reasonably necessary or legally required.
11. Privacy Rights
Depending upon where you reside and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information.
Requests may be submitted to: [email protected]
Midas may need to verify a request before taking action.
12. California Residents
California residents may request to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, to correct inaccurate information, and to delete personal information, subject to the exceptions in the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no opt-out to offer. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Submit a request to the address in section 11; an authorized agent may submit one on your behalf with signed permission.
Categories collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (name, email); account credentials; commercial information (orders and payment status, not card numbers); internet activity (pages viewed, in aggregate); and the creative material you upload. We receive this information directly from you when you create an account, enter a competition, upload material, order a service, or contact us; automatically from your browser when you use the site; and from sign-in and payment providers when they return account or transaction information. Sections 1 through 5 describe the purposes and recipients.
Account login credentials are sensitive personal information under California law. We use them only to provide and secure your account, and not to infer characteristics about you, so the right to limit their use does not apply.
13. Minors
Midas competition and coverage services are intended for adults.
Midas does not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to create competition accounts, enter competitions or purchase coverage.
If Midas learns that an ineligible minor has provided personal information through the platform, Midas may restrict access and take appropriate steps regarding the information.
14. Security
Midas uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information and unpublished creative material.
No electronic transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
15. Legal Requirements
Midas may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, court orders or lawful governmental requests; protect the security or integrity of Midas services; investigate fraud; or protect legal rights.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Midas may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology, business practices or Midas services.
The effective date will be updated when revisions are made.
Where appropriate or legally required, Midas may provide additional notice or request additional consent.
